The concept of Blue Voyage ’can be identified with Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, one of the important figures of Turkish Literature. Cevat Şakir, known as Fisherman of Halicarnassus, was exiled to Bodrum in 1962 due to his political ideas. He was fascinated by his surroundings and started to explore Bodrum’s cultural history with an intellectual curiosity. He rented the boat Yatagan at from a sponge diver, and embarked on an adventure to explore the Aegean coasts, which were immortalized by Homer, and thus the ‘Blue Voyage is was born.
